About Paradise Pets

Paradise Pets was started in 2017 as a mobile grooming salon. Within months it was a full time job and soon thereafter grooming helpers were being employed and things kept snowballing from there. In 2019 Paradise Pets expanded into the state of the art Doggy Daycare and Grooming Centre that it is today with an amazing team of qualified and caring staff that are passionate about loving dogs and giving them best possible care.

Since opening the daycare and salon premises in 2019, there have been continuous re-models and expansions - constantly improving and innovating our space to be the best it can be for the dogs.

We continuously dream up ways of being better - watch this space!

Our Team

Our Wonderful Team

This is the A-Team that makes it all happen. We are a tight knit family of dog lovers who always aim to do what's best for the dogs. We don't take ourselves too seriously, we love to have a laugh, we love to listen to music, and we love to care for dogs. Our days are filled with slobbery kisses, hairy clothes, fetch, cuddles, birthday paw-ties and so so so much love from the dogs.

Holly Niblock

Holly is a qualified and experienced senior dog groomer and our Manager. Holly is originally from the UK but has permanently settled in Whitianga with her kiwi partner. She has extensive grooming experience from studying and working in a few different grooming salons in the UK and she enjoys grooming all breeds, big and small with a special interest in working with nervous dogs, helping them build their salon confidence. We love having her on our team as she shares the same values as us and is a talented groomer to boot! We are lucky to have found her. In her spare time, Holly enjoys fishing, eating, horse riding, exercising, walking & swimming.

Rhiannan Johnson

Rhiannan has been at Paradise Pets since 2019. She started as a volunteer but we quickly snapped her up as a full time member of our team and since then she has completed her certificate in animal care (we are so proud) and has now as of 2023 completed her International Professional Groomer Certification. You can find Rhi pampering our lucky salon doggos alongside Holly & Mel, or sharing cuddles with our daycare crew! In her spare time Rhi loves taking her own furbaby Daytona the staffy for runs and adventures. She also supports her partners speedway adventures and enjoys fishing, 4 wheel driving, exploring our beautiful country and loves to go to the gym.

Irene Carrillo

Irene is our passionate and caring main daycare supervisor and receptionist. Originally hailing from the vibrant city of Barcelona, Irene's journey with dogs began through her volunteer work with dogs in need, where she discovered her profound love and dedication to their well-being. She goes above and beyond to create a safe and comfortable environment for all our doggie guests. Her years of experience, coupled with her ability to understand the needs of each dog, makes every dog feels like a cherished member of the pack. When she's not caring for our furry friends, Irene indulges her love for nature biking through the picturesque landscapes and spending quality time at the beach.

Community

Paradise Pets likes to give back to the Community! We love our little town and its people and we are so grateful to have such a wonderful clientele and supportive following. We have thought of a few different ways that we can give back to the community and offer our support in return. Aside from donating towards local fundraising causes and organising occasional bake sales for the SPCA we support our community in the following ways:

Here is an article about our Rhi being awesome at what she does. We are so proud of her.
